Cat 60 Diesel Conversion (8800 Cat RD7 Engine with Rev Conv. limiter to down arrow RPM from 850 to 650 to match gas transmissions. Engine came in a crate from the factory in cat yellow though the cat 60 came in cat gray till dec 10, 1930. Only 56 of these conversions were made. Has a rare cat temp metor in radiator which was a factor option. Seat by J. Hahn.

Only one of the antique caterpillar machinery owners club has ever found. It has 5 additions not on other best go tractors: 1 fold down convertible top. 2 Heavy duty radiator guard. 3 tow hook on front. 4 Cast guards over idler bolts. 5 high speed 3rd gear - instead of 1-2-3 it says 1-2-H. Pads are new and best is cast in each one.

Holt 10 Ton - a logger with 55HP and was in competition with the best 60. Has belt pully, original fuel cap with handles, pindle hook hitch on front hogging fold-down top, original wind up spring starter mechanism, hinged track design for crawling over logs and stumps, holt temp gauge in radiation the track grousers are missing (I am still looking!)

Cat 65 gas - only early cat with this unused shape long heavy radiator, engine side lavered pannels, heavy duty swing frames and draw bar, only 421 made in early 1930s, stylish and handsome tractor, rare

Cat 70 gas - largest cat gas tractor built special finned manifolds, classic early cat styling, less than 30 built, very rare. Only approx 25 diesel 70s made and most converted to diesel 75s with the big 6 cyl engine

Cat Diesel 75 - no gas version of the 75 cat. Has the very large and first 6Cyl Engine built. This is the beginning of the D-8 series. Only about 900 built. Engine is so large. The pony cranking engine has 2 speed transmission. This is a logger with a 100 ton hyster wench on the back. 2 seats, one for the tractor and one for the wench operator. Fuel tank was enlarged by cat. The wench weighs approx 10,000 pounds, front logging hook

Cat 10 standard gauge, 10HP, smallest cat built, wgt, approx 4200lbs. Had several design flaws-fuel tank over engine would boil the fuel when weather hot or working the cat very hard. Tall square seat-back prevented driver’s rear vision, old style value-in-block engine, poor throttle design.

Cat 10 - wide gauge for hill-side use + better traction. The cat 10 wide has PTO, belt polly, double draw-bar offset to put plows under the limbs of trees

Holt 2-Ton- Has 15HP Hall-Scott Engine design with overhead camshaft-very early and unusual. This pea green color came only on the 1st year 2-ton and reason not ever clear (1921). Has best pully and double draw bar high/low type

Holt 2-ton-last 2-ton built by Holt (1924). Best never built one this small, so the 2-ton survived the best/Holt merger in 1925 and was built to 1927

Cletrac 15 - quality attractive crawler. These cletracs had planatary steering/turning design like Cat wed approx 50 years later. Note: Cletrac began production in 1915 as Cleveland Tractor Co and in 1917-18 this firm got control of the best tractor co by stock purchase manuever and made a few best 25-crawlers. Celtrac F in 1920 and best in about 1917 made some of the earliest High Drive Crawlers Orange Color

Cletrac K20- Rare 1932 model with only one found with what appeared to be factor electric start. Has Belt Pully. 2 Speed transmission and reverse. Color back to orange. Has central oil pump to lub the rollers at one stroke

Cletrac F This High drive small crawler started production in 1920-21-22. It stopped there and then legend has it that in 1923 Cletrac made 3 experimental Cletrac F’s that has bottom rollers (like cat, holt, and best) instead of the “beads” on production F’s. This F has an engine block casting # of 6010F and a casting date on right side of block on Jan 29, 1923. It has external oil pump in brass on left front that runs off the camshaft. It has oil air-bath cleaner rather than a water-bath as the production Fs here. It is an all fuel engine. None of the other 2 Fs have been found.

Caterpillar D6 model 9u built in 1957 with a very powerful 6cyl diesel engine and the first diesel cat offered 24 volt electric started with 6 factory glow plays for cold weather starting. Came with 24 volt alternator, 6 hydrolic outlets, factory turbo charger with up arrow HP from 75 to 100. Has 28” pads. It was a wheat farm tractor and pulled combination of 30’ disc harrow. 30’ grain planter drill with fertilizer applicator. Came off a wheat farm near Freewater, Oregon. This machine served 1000 acres of wheat.
