1. Waterloo Boy - 1924 - Restored by Kenny Kass in Iowa (He restored the factory Waterloo Boy in their museum in Moline, Ill. He bored the engine + sleeved it back to standard.

2. Spoter D-JD with 24” Spoke fly-wheel, transmission cover has “Waterloo Gasoline Engine Co” casting cast iron “Deere + Co, Moline, Ill” Seat, All original 1924 on full steel wheels. Beautiful restoration.

Big Cat Barn

​

1. Cat 60 - farm type with original type, metal roof, cat belt pully, radiator guard, tow hook at front

2. Cat 60 - logging cruiser, logger fold down top, cast idler-bolt guards, HD drawbar, double HD IDLER tension springs, HD bspokeIdlers, Radiator guard, too hook has very rare caterpillar temp metor in radiator (it was a factor option during production)

3. Cat 60 Diesel Conversion (8800 Cat RD7 Engine with Rev Conv. limiter to down arrow RPM from 850 to 650 to match gas transmissions. Engine came in a crate from the factory in cat yellow though the cat 60 came in cat gray till dec 10, 1930. Only 56 of these conversions were made. Has a rare cat temp metor in radiator which was a factor option. Seat by J. Hahn.

4. Best 60 Logging Cruiser (the best terminology for this tractor)

   1. ​Only one of the antique caterpillar machinery owners club has ever found. It has 5 additions not on other best go tractors: 1 fold down convertible top. 2 Heavy duty radiator guard. 3 tow hook on front. 4 Cast guards over idler bolts. 5 high speed 3rd gear - instead of 1-2-3 it says 1-2-H. Pads are new and best is cast in each one.

5. ​Holt 10 Ton - a logger with 55HP and was in competition with the best 60. Has belt pully, original fuel cap with handles, pindle hook hitch on front hogging fold-down top, original wind up spring starter mechanism, hinged track design for crawling over logs and stumps, holt temp gauge in radiation the track grousers are missing (I am still looking!)

6. Cat 65 gas - only early cat with this unused shape long heavy radiator, engine side lavered pannels, heavy duty swing frames and draw bar, only 421 made in early 1930s, stylish and handsome tractor, rare

7. Cat 70 gas - largest cat gas tractor built special finned manifolds, classic early cat styling, less than 30 built, very rare. Only approx 25 diesel 70s made and most converted to diesel 75s with the big 6 cyl engine

8. Cat Diesel 75 - no gas version of the 75 cat. Has the very large and first 6Cyl Engine built. This is the beginning of the D-8 series. Only about 900 built. Engine is so large. The pony cranking engine has 2 speed transmission. This is a logger with a 100 ton hyster wench on the back. 2 seats, one for the tractor and one for the wench operator. Fuel tank was enlarged by cat. The wench weighs approx 10,000 pounds, front logging hook

 

Small Cat Barn

Orchard and Vineyard Models

1. Cat 10  standard gauge, 10HP, smallest cat built, wgt, approx 4200lbs. Had several design flaws-fuel tank over engine would boil the fuel when weather hot or working the cat very hard. Tall square seat-back prevented driver’s rear vision, old style value-in-block engine, poor throttle design.

2. Cat 10 - wide gauge for hill-side use + better traction. The cat 10 wide has PTO, belt polly, double draw-bar offset to put plows under the limbs of trees

3. Cat 10 high crop/wide guage for cultivating early small orchard trees, esp on hill sides. Has PTO

4. Holt 2-Ton- Has 15HP Hall-Scott Engine design with overhead camshaft-very early and unusual. This pea green color came only on the 1st year 2-ton and reason not ever clear (1921). Has best pully and double draw bar high/low type

5. Holt 2-ton-last 2-ton built by Holt (1924). Best never built one this small, so the 2-ton survived the best/Holt merger in 1925 and was built to 1927

6. Holt 2-ton - last year built by 1927, by caterpillar tractor co. could be gray or yellow. Unusual tractor

7. Cat R-2 - this is like the D-2 but with a 4cyl gas engine. Wide gauge, electric start, PTO

8. Cat D-2- Standard gauge. Double high/low draw bars had 30 to 32 HP with pony motor start

9. Cat d2 - wide gauge, belt pully, very popular machine

10. Cat 15 - 7C series, only approx 300 made. Corrected the design flaws in the earlier 10s and 15s. With Tank now behind engine, corners cut off seat back, standard gauge, PTO

11. Cat 20 - 8C Series. Replaced the early Cat 15 with changes noted for the 7-c cat 15 (above). Only about 700 made. Wide gauge, belt pully

12. Cletrac 15 - quality attractive crawler. These cletracs had planatary steering/turning design like Cat wed approx 50 years later. Note: Cletrac began production in 1915 as Cleveland Tractor Co and in 1917-18 this firm got control of the best tractor co by stock purchase manuever and made a few best 25-crawlers. Celtrac F in 1920 and best in about 1917 made some of the earliest High Drive Crawlers Orange Color

13. Cletrac 20 - Attractive, quality built, belt pully, orange color

14. Cletrac 25 - Has 6cyl engine, electric start, changed color to chocolate brown

15. Cletrac K20- Rare 1932 model with only one found with what appeared to be factor electric start. Has Belt Pully. 2 Speed transmission and reverse. Color back to orange. Has central oil pump to lub the rollers at one stroke

16. Cletrac F This High drive small crawler started production in 1920-21-22. It stopped there and then legend has it that in 1923 Cletrac made 3 experimental Cletrac F’s that has bottom rollers (like cat, holt, and best) instead of the “beads” on production F’s. This F has an engine block casting # of 6010F and a casting date on right side of block on Jan 29, 1923. It has external oil pump in brass on left front that runs off the camshaft. It has oil air-bath cleaner rather than a water-bath as the production Fs here. It is an all fuel engine. None of the other 2 Fs have been found.

ArksanSaw Barn Equipment and Implements

1. Peanut harvester - stationary, rare and early for Lilliston in Albany Ga. Produced approx 1925 to 1940. All wood machine except the wheels, pulleys and other necessary metal parts. Very effective and efficient operating harvester.

2. Corn snapper - JD - 1st mounted harvester built by JD and mounted on model A-unstyled tractor 1926, snapper is #25-2 row - an elevator loads corn in trailer pulled behind the tractor. Tractor has 4 front wheels to support heavy harvester - all 4 steer

3. Corn snapper - JD 2 row mounted on JD row-crop JD tractor model 60, snapper is #237 and last model built by JD before the JD combine

4. Cultivator - one row mounted on JD 430 standard and has fertilizer side dresser on cultivator

 

Galvalume Barn

 

1. JD model R - JD’s first Diesel in 1948. Has 2cyl pony start engine which starts the 2cyl Diesel. This replaced the JD model D tractor which has a 30yr production run and record for tractors

2. JD model 80 diesel with a V4 Pony starting engine. A very powerful 2cyl Diesel and this tractor has only 1029hrs from new

3. JD model 820 diesel with V4 pony start. Very attractive tractor

4. JD model 83p Industrial diesel used to pull a dirtpan

5. JD model 840 Industrial Diesel with driver seat and controls off set to left side. Pulls a JD self loading and self unloading dirt pan hooked over rear axle and powered by a vertical PTO on the tractor. Very effective and efficient. I have the dirt pan but not room in the barn for it and the tractor.

6. Caterpillar 4cyl Gas Crawler - production started in the early 1930s. At sometime, cat introduced the famous cat diesel engines, standard gauge

7. Caterpillar 3cyl diesel engine. Wide gauge with 2cyl pony start on left side of diesel. Introduced in early 1930s. Has a very good durability and effectiveness and called the diesel thirty five and very powerful

8. Caterpillar diesel forty - has 4cyl gas engine. Wide gauge very powerful and durable

9. Caterpillar diesel forty - wide gauge. Powerful and durable 3cyl diesel engine with left side mount 2cyl pony start

10. Caterpillar fifty - has 4cyl gas engine. Standard gauge

11. Caterpillar diesel fifty - wide gauge. A large powerful durable tractor with left side 2cyl pony start motor same wgt and power as the legendary gas cat 60 w was introduced in 1919 by Best

12. Caterpillar D6 model 9u built in 1957 with a very powerful 6cyl diesel engine and the first diesel cat offered 24 volt electric started with 6 factory glow plays for cold weather starting. Came with 24 volt alternator, 6 hydrolic outlets, factory turbo charger with up arrow HP from 75 to 100. Has 28” pads. It was a wheat farm tractor and pulled combination of 30’ disc harrow. 30’ grain planter drill with fertilizer applicator. Came off a wheat farm near Freewater, Oregon. This machine served 1000 acres of wheat.
